The 5th edition of the laffmattaz which held on Easter Sunday, 27th of March at prestigious Jogor Centre Ibadan was not only a night of fun but one that was full of highlights. One of the unforgettable and highlight of the event was the performance of former Maintain member, Olu Maintain. After performing “Yahooze” the song which brought him into the limelight as a solo artist in 2007, he then pulled out Tolu Maintain, his cousin and second half of the Maintain group to the stage, recreating some of the brilliance of old. In no time, nostalgia quickly spread through the crowd as they performed classic tracks such as “I Catch Cold”, “Efon", and others.
Maintain together with Big Bamo were responsible for churning out some of the best hit songs of our time. Th group came to limelight with the release of the yoruba rendered ‘Ibo Lawa N Gbe Lo‘ and their satirical way of addressing core societal issues through expression of humour in music quickly propelled them to the fore of middle skool Nigerian music.
This will be the first time the duo will be reunited on stage since breaking up 12 years ago.
